China - Tropical Cyclone Landfall Parametric Synthetic Event Generator - Imperial College London

A parametric model which takes user inputs of location (longitude, latitude), wind intensity threshold and, optionally, Western North Pacific 500 hPa geopotential anomaly, and produces an arbitrarily long synthetic landfall event set comprising events exceeding the intensity threshold at the stated location. Event sets include the wind profile and rainfall. The generator is capable of producing events outside of the range of sample data and has been validated using Hong Kong as a case study. The model was fitted to and tested against the China Landfall Catalogue available on the OASIS hub ( https://oasishub.co/dataset/china-typhoon-landfall-catalogue-imperial-college-london ).
