The observed flood area is an area covered by a certain flood of flooded water that is limited to ground observations (marking or describing the edge of a flood area) or remote sensing data (aerial photography (still photography / video) or satellite images). The flooded flood level can be used to measure the elevation levels of the water levels in the event of flooding. Nearly real-time detected flood areas can be generated from satellite imagery. The observed flood plains are available as flood and interpretation maps. There may be several different map levels available from the same flood, if it is interpreted as flood areas from several satellite and aerial photographs. On the other hand, one of the older floods may be available as a flood delivery, which is known only for a year. The spatial data set also includes the boundary of the observed / interpreted area (eg a satellite or aerial map area).
