Geoservidor Peru - Peru Geoserver

The Geoserver is a technology platform with geospatial specialized information and practical utility of the environmental situation of the territory, the Ministry of Environment, through the Department of Environmental Land Management, at the service of the authorities of different levels of government , researchers and academics, organized civil society and citizens in general.

The information available on the Geoserver comes from ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the territory and its natural resources, which can be useful for decision-making, planning and technical development of public land management policies; as well as for the construction of technical and academic knowledge and as a means of consultation on environmental or territorial conditions that may affect the life and sustainable development of citizens

Here you can quickly access through the applications service consultations, information on areas with potential for sustainable development, safe areas and disaster risk warning illegal mining and other crimes and changes in use land at the national, regional, provincial and district level of the Peruvian territory.

It also allows access to more detailed and complete information on:

Coverage and land use. Fires and hot spots. Marine erosion. Conservation of ecosystems. Restoration of degraded areas. Deforestation. Risk of disasters.

The Geoservidor received in 2012 the Geosur award (Argentina) and in 2011 the prize Good Practices in Public Management. In addition, in 2010 he received the Latin American Prize for excellence in GIS (Mexico). These awards recognize the innovative technological advance that the Ministry of the Environment was already showing at the time, in terms of territorial management by applying geographic information systems.
