Global - Monthly temperature ensemble 1850 to 2016 - University College London

The data set is an ensemble of monthly temperature anomalies across the globe. It is generated accounting for observational and coverage uncertainties. The 100 ensemble members of the HadCRUT4 dataset are sparse. These ensemble members sample the observational uncertainties in the instrumental temperature record. A recently introduced multi-resolution interpolation technique is used to quantify the coverage uncertainties. For each HadCRUT ensemble member, a 100 member ensemble is generated that samples the prediction uncertainty. It results in 10,000 member ensemble that samples both the spatial and observational uncertainties.
