Brazil - Critical drought events 2014 - ANA

Critical drought events in the municipalities of Brazil in 2014 Data on the incidence of extreme events in Brazil come from the records of the National Secretariat of Civil Defense (Sedec), linked to the Ministry of National Integration (MI). The records are based on the decrees of the declaration of the Emergency Situation (SE) and the State of Public Disaster (CPE) issued by the municipalities, which are subsequently approved by the states and recognized by the Union. SE or ECP declarations are not mandatory, but facilitators to obtain federal and state aid, and, for this reason, there may be events not counted in the records consulted. The records of droughts or droughts are considered as drought events.
