Germany - Heavy precipitation return periods (KOSTRA) - DWD

Since the 1980s, in collaboration with the respective agencies of the federal states, DWD provides regular updates of heavy precipitation statistics and analyses for Germany (KOSTRA-DWD), to allow estimates of probabilities of heavy precipitation for different duration lengths. With the version 2010 (KOSTRA-DWD-2010), a dataset is now published which refers to the time span 1951 – 2010. These grids are now available for 18 duration thresholds (5 min to 72 h) with nine return periods (1 year to 100 years.
