Impact Forecasting has released a wind footprint for Hurricane Maria for Puerto Rico modelled using observational data inputs as of 10 am on September 20th. Maria made landfall in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico around 6:15 AM local time, September 20th as a strong Category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale with maximum sustained winds (1min) of 155 mph. Hurricane-force winds affected the entirety of the island with San Juan subjected to intense wind speeds.

Impact Forecasting’s modeled footprint is provided in the form of a shape file and can be used in a geographical information system to identify regions impacted by the event.
