Portugal - Madeira Flood Depth 20 year return period - The National Geographic Information System of Portugal

Decree-Law 115/2010 of 22 October approves the framework for the assessment and management of flood risks with the aim of reducing its harmful consequences by transposing Directive No. Directive 2007/60 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2007, and also addressing concerns about the mitigation of the effects of floods, as set out in Directive 2000/60 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council meeting of 23 October. In this context, the Regional Directorate for Spatial Planning and Environment of the Autonomous Region of Madeira assessed the risk of flooding and, for this purpose, the charts of floodplains and flood risk charts were prepared, indicating the potential adverse consequences associated with flooding to different flood scenarios
