Portugal - Madeira - Flood Hazard Maps - Flood depth (return period of 20 years) - The National Geographic Information System of Portugal

Decree-Law No. 115/2010 of 22 October, approving the framework for the assessment and management of flood risks in order to reduce their harmful consequences, transposing into national law Directive n o 2007/60 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October, and also going to meet the concerns on mitigating the effects of floods, established in Directive 2000/60 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October. In this context was evaluated by Regional Spatial Planning Directorate and Environment of the Autonomous Region of Madeira the risk of flooding, and to elaborate effect, the flood hazard maps and charts of flood risks, indicative of the potential adverse consequences associated the different flood scenarios, including the assessment of the activities that cause the increased risk of flooding.
