Storm Ciara - Flood Footprint 11 Feb 2020 - JBA Risk Management

Storm Ciara has brought persistent heavy rainfall and strong winds to much of the UK since 9 February. Some areas experienced a month and a half's worth of rainfall in just 24 hours and wind gusts of up to 100mph, with more than 500 properties estimated to have been flooded across Yorkshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cumbria.

JBA's Event Response team has produced a flood footprint for the affected areas.

Accompanying this footprint is a spatial layer indicating areas where flooding has been verified using field observations and media sources. This layer is correct as of 11 02 2020 and may be revised at a later date. Outside of these areas, the extent and depth of flooding has been estimated based on telemetered data and footprints generated by JBA’s Flood Foresight system.
