The Environmental and Territorial Information System (SIAT) of the Autonomous Province of Trento has the task of collecting, storing, updating, processing and representing data pertaining to the territorial-environmental entities, integrating the descriptive information of a statistical, administrative and managerial nature with their localization geographical, their geometric shape and their spatio-temporal relations. The main objective of SIAT is to provide support to the management and government activities of the provincial administration.

The SIAT, provided for by art. 27 of the Provincial Law of 5 September 1991 n. 22 and sm, is composed of operative units inserted in the structures that deal with the territory and the environment. This is a system managed by various structures of the Autonomous Province of Trento, able to create, update, certify and document the information for which it is responsible. This tool, conceived as an integral part of the provincial information system, responds to the need to promote information on phenomena that acquire territorial importance, with the aim of supporting management and government objectives in an autonomous, timely, flexible and effective manner. .
