Bolivia - Riberalta Flood Extent 2014 - GeoBolivia

This map represents flooded areas detected by satellite in the vicinity of the city of Riberalta, in the department of Beni, Bolivia, using data from TerraSAR-X obtained on February 13, 2014. The water signatures have been detected mainly in the surroundings of the city, not having observed masses of water inside it. It is probable that the extent of the floods has been underestimated throughout the built-up areas, given the special characteristics of the satellite image used. This is a preliminary analysis that has not yet been validated in the field, prepared by UNITAR / UNOSAT, a training and research institute of the United Nations.
