Brazil - Pluviometric Atlas 1977 to 2006 - Geological Survey of Brazil

The Pluviometric Atlas project is an action within the program of Geodiversity Surveys that aims to gather, consolidate and organize information on rainfall obtained in the operation of the national hydrometeorological network.

The Atlas, presented in a geographic information system (GIS), will allow the knowledge in a large part of the national territory of the behavior of the annual, quarterly, monthly and annual maximum rainfall, the number of rainy days, the Maximum Likely Precipitation (PMP) and intensity-duration-frequency relations. The results of the studies developed for the assembly of the Atlas will be able to meet the different demands of the Brazilian society on rainfall knowledge, ranging from geography students at both fundamental and higher levels to water resource engineers.

This Atlas at 1:5.000.000 scale includes 26 maps :
