Maine - Storm Surge Inundation Depths of Sagadahoc - Maine Geological Survey

This dataset displays areas along the Maine coast that would potentially be inundated due to Category 1, 2, 3, or 4 hurricanes at mean high tide. Areas of inundation shown are expected to be below the overall storm tide, which is a combination of predicted astronomical tide and storm surge. Additional layers show potential inundation depths associated with the different events. These data were produced using the Sea, Lake, and Overland Surges from Hurricanes, or SLOSH, model. Data is meant to support emergency and evacuation planning purposes.

Usage of this data is limited to general and emergency planning purposes. Users must assume responsibility in determining the usability of this data for their purposes. It is important to note that LiDAR data used to create these data represents bare earth conditions at the time it was captured (2006, 2010, and 2011) and thus, topography may have undergone changes since initial mapping occurred. It is also important to note that these datasets only account for combined predicted astronomical tides and potential storm surges from the SLOSH model, and thus do not account for the additional impacts of waves, precipitation, or freshwater flow.
